research, examples of david hockney.
i chose these images to include in my research because they really show how much effort he puts into his work, when you look at them they inspire you to want to create your own. I like how he does his work on seperate canvas but they still look like they're on the same page, his arrival of spring montage is my favorite because it just looks like he's taken a photo of the back ground and copied it on to the canvas. This is what i wanted to include in my work, something that looks life like but isn't something that has that quality look about it. His paintings don't really have a centre piece something that you instantly notice, you just notice it as a whole and see how good they really are.
BMW Art Cars - David Hockney
the reason i included this video in my research is because for me it shows david hockneys style of work really well and shows you how easily he manages to produce his work. this video allows people to see first hand how david produces his work and what inspires him to create the work he does.
Triptychs
this is how we produce our triptychs photos using photoshop, three photos that we took to produe one, they dont have to be the same person or even the same colour the more abstract they are the better they look.
tripticks work.
this is the work we did in the style of david hockney, we booked the studio and went in pairs. We used a Canon 600D camera, Bowens 500w gemini lighting on a high glide pantograph, soft boxes, 3 in 1 grid diffuser as the main light at the front, 2 soft boxes either side shining onto the background. The soft boxes really helped because they allowed us to spread the light over all of the subject without ruining the shoot because they soften the light going threw them, The high glide pantograph allowed us to accurately position the soft boxes and the 3 in 1 grid diffuser. The task was simple we had to photograph the subjects head, stomach, and bottom half of the legs and feet. So we took several different photos of each section with different poses in each and imported them into lightroom which is a program that allows people to change the colours on a certain photo, making certain areas darker or brighter. and this is how they turned out.

stop frame photography.
on tuesday we were set the task of taking 6 pictures of 6 different scenes in the style of David Hockney. We were given a camera and went out to photograph our scenes, Once we'd done this we downloaded the images and placed them into photoshop where we could edit them together to make them look like this.
